Speed through huge sets of data

AD Lab vs. FTK

Divide and conquer with AD Lab. This proven tool helps you power through massive data sets, handle various data types and run multiple cases at the same time, all within a collaborative, scalable environment. AD Lab uniquely enables distributed processing, allowing investigators to utilise additional hardware to dramatically increase their case processing and resolution speed.

The overall benefit of using AD Lab as opposed to only using FTK is that it can reduce your backlog dramatically.

A US federal agency was able to reduce the backlog from 9 months to 2 weeks, saving USD 500 000 – to read the case study, click here.

THE BENEFITS OF AD LAB

1) Collaboration:

In addition people can work together on the same case. This allows forensic investigators to specialize in their own field, such as internet history, video-files, email research and so on. In addition, people can work on multiple case at the same time.

2) Remote locations:

People can work together simultaneously and share results with each other. This is especially useful for forensic teams that travel a lot and have members working on different locations.

3) Role based Access:

AD Lab Investigators can control who is able to view specific data sets with granular role based permission, allowing them to control who is able to view specific data sets. It facilitates a collaborative environment to allow investigators to work more effectively while saving time and money!

4) Scalability:

AD lab is able to process large amounts of data, and will process it much quicker than FTK. The exact processing speed will depend on the type and amount of files that need to be processed, the settings (such as OCR) Note: In the summer of 2016 we will release Elastic search capabilities. This means that a database is no longer required, and processing speed will increase dramatically.

5) Web reviewers:

AD Lab allows both Forensic examiners and those without any computer forensic training to review and comment on data through a secure Web interface. This enables both computer forensics colleagues and non-technical players, such as attorneys, Human Resources, and outside experts to participate in the investigative process without delay.
