THEO DE BEER - SENIOR CONSULTANT

Theo was a Captain in the South African Police Services and was the Assistant Unit Commander of the South African Police Service’s National Computer Crime Investigation Unit. Theo played a cardinal role in the establishment of the Unit and the development of the Standing Operating Procedures of the Unit.

He received training in computer crime, Internet and hacking investigations by the FBI and French Police as well as Introduction, Intermediate and Advanced training in Cyber forensics and Encase by the US Department of Justice and the US Secret Service. He also received training in Ethical Hacking and Practical IT Security as well as obtaining A+, N+ and INet+ certificate and training in the use of Analyst Notebook for data analysis.

Theo regularly presents training on Cyber Forensics and the management and investigation of digital crime scenes. He was a training facilitator in this area at the SARPCO countries training programme at the Botswana Police College in 2002.
